Box lacrosse is open to any player — regardless of the club you play field lacrosse for. It’s our opportunity to keep growing box lacrosse’s presence in Atlanta, led by the professionals who know the game best.
Box operates as a separate program designed to complement, not replace, our field model. Families register specifically for box lacrosse, and all scheduling and details are communicated independently. Explore Travel Lacrosse →
Box Lacrosse · Winter 2026–27
Events & tryouts.
The inaugural Dirty Birds Box Lacrosse season is officially underway. Following our Director ID Clinic, the next step is two-day tryouts for our Winter 2026–27 teams. Tryouts are run and evaluated by Director Adam Wiedemann and members of the Georgia Swarm and are open to players from any field lacrosse club.
Box Lacrosse Tryouts
Tryouts are your path onto a Dirty Birds Box Lacrosse winter roster. Over two sessions, our staff will evaluate athletes on stick skills, decision-making, competitiveness, coachability, and how they play within the box environment.

What to expect
Day 1
Skills & live play
Stick-work drills and box dynamics, then break into offense and defense. We build from 2v2 up to 5v5 and let players compete on the floor.
Day 2
Controlled scrimmage
A game-focused session on substitutions, transition, and box rules — teaching mixed with real play, giving athletes room to read the game and be creative.

Director ID Clinic
Thank you to every athlete who joined us for the inaugural Dirty Birds Box Lacrosse Director ID Clinic. Players from across Metro Atlanta took the floor for an introduction to the box game and worked directly with Adam Wiedemann and Michael Grace.
The clinic focused on the fundamentals that will define our program — stick protection, tight-space skills, faster decision-making, creativity, physicality, and learning to compete within the box environment.
