John McLaughlin

John “Mac” McLaughlin has been a goalie coach with the Dirty Birds program since 2022, bringing more than 40 years of playing experience across both hockey and lacrosse from New York to Georgia. A devoted father, grandfather, referee, and coach, Coach Mac currently works at Kell High School — where he coached the varsity boys program for 10 years and the girls program for 5 years — building a deep institutional knowledge of the game at every level.

Beyond his role with Dirty Birds, Mac is also currently the goalie for the ATL Megamen, the Atlanta franchise that competes in the Atlanta Box Lacrosse Association (ABLA) — keeping him sharp, current, and connected to the position he teaches. Mac has been married to his wife Lynne for 25 years and is the proud father of four children: Devin, Amy, Fiona, and Riley. His enthusiasm for the goalie position, his decades of experience, and his commitment to mentoring young keepers make him an invaluable part of the Dirty Birds family.
