Matt Meeks has been part of the Dirty Birds coaching staff since the program’s relaunch in 2022, bringing energy, experience, and a real passion for developing young athletes. A Roswell, GA native, Matt started playing lacrosse at age 12 — beginning his high school career at Roswell High School before transferring to The McCallie School, where he played close defense and long-stick midfielder. Matt also competed across multiple club lacrosse seasons, gaining valuable high-level experience that informs his coaching today. He began his coaching career in 2019 with Roswell Youth Lacrosse and has since built an impressive resume across the Atlanta area — coaching with Cherokee Youth Lacrosse, the Etowah Middle School Program, and currently the Marietta Middle School Select Program. Off the field, Matt is a high school science and math teacher at Furtah Preparatory School in Acworth, GA — bringing the same patience, structure, and developmental mindset to the lacrosse field that defines his work in the classroom.
